2022 Yearly Goals

As 2021 comes to a close, it's always interesting to think back and reflect on what happened the previous year. At the start of this year I was deeply saddened by the loss of Pap and Gabbie. Thinking about them now still pulls at my heartstrings and makes me miss them. I don't remember what I did for my birthday in February. In March/ April I was working a bunch of OT as a Product Analyst 2 in CL; trying to balance multiple projects and responsibilities while my boss was out on maternity leave. Summer was flooded with volleyball - eventually playing 4 days a week! I also met my current girlfriend Lauren who is asleep on my shoulder as I write this. We took a couple trips this year together: one to WV New River Gorge where I White Water Rafted for the first time and Central FL (one hour north of Ft. Myers). Both places were accompanied with Spartan Races. In the fall, brought the passing of my real estate exam and the hunt for my first investment property. By God's grace, I didn't have to look far and bought a duplex in Bedford. Two single family (3/1) homes on one lot for 155K. Each house will rent for at least $1000. After closing on that, during Thanksgiving week I killed my first WV stud of a buck. Holidays rapidly closed out the year and here I am. I have been feverishly painting the one house in my duplex so that I can move in soon. My current house in Maple Heights is under contract for $110K when I bought it for 65K! I have learned a lot this year. I have tried new recipes, went new places, and met some good people. God continues to make each year better than the last and I am so grateful. I grossed 80K at PGR and beat my projected 40% savings rate.

I have had a difficult time coming up with new goals for this upcoming year though. I guess I will start with career and money goals as those are easiest to quantify and go from there. I want to use my monthly net worth posts to track my progress.
